A big increase in demand for our school programs means places are filling up fast. Hard copies of the 2014 Kings Park Education brochure will be delivered to your school at the start of term 1. What’s on in Term 1
Explore Nyoongar culture with two special programs. Nyoongar Boodja (‘Nyoongar country’) explores Djeran: the season of adulthood from Tuesday 1 to Friday 4, April 2014. Join us for a day of activities including storytelling and tool making, all delivered by Aboriginal presenters. Throughout February, enjoy a self-guided tour of the Boodja Gnarning trail and discover traditional plant uses in the Western Australian Botanic Garden. Read more about Boodja Gnarning…
Excursions to Rio Tinto Naturescape Kings Park
Rio Tinto Naturescape Kings Park will be closed for maintenance during February 2014, however education programs still run in other venues. Contact the Education Bookings Officer Tuesday - Friday, 8.00 – 3.30 pm. Programs will commence again in Naturescape on Tuesday, 4 March 2014. Professional Learning for Teachers
Teachers planning an excursion to Rio Tinto Naturescape Kings Park for the first time are required to attend a free induction session, held monthly. Come in and familiarise yourself with the area and activities so that your excursion runs smoothly on the day. Customised Professional Learning in the Australian Curriculum areas of Science, History (Aboriginal Cultures) and Geography, and nature play can be designed to meet your schools requirements.
