Festival launch concert and Perth Fashion Festival

James MorrisonThe Kings Park Festival is almost here! Kick off the festivities early and view a spectacular window display at Aspects of Kings Park as part of the Perth Fashion Festival’s Windows of the City event. The exhibition begins Friday, 9 August so be sure to visit in-store and vote for us to win. James Morrison will welcome the start of spring at the Festival launch concert on Sunday, 8 September. Join him and his band, The Motown Experience, for a great afternoon of ‘sixties soul’. This is a free event however gold coin donations to support Kings Park are appreciated. Read more...

2013 Chevron City to Surf for Activ

Chevron City to Surf for Activ in Kings Park. Photo: G. Charlesworth.The annual Chevron City to Surf for Activ is on Sunday, 25 August. To allow safe passage for competitors in the 12km run, half marathon and full marathon, road closures will occur on Fraser Avenue, Forrest Drive and Lovekin Drive from 4.00 am - 12.00 noon. Kings Park Road will be closed from 6.00 am - 12 noon. Poole Avenue, Saw Avenue and Poole Avenue remain open. Read more...

Plan your visit to Kings Park

Public transport is accessible via Transperth bus route 37 (final stop at Wadjuk Carpark) and a new, free Green CAT bus runs between Leederville Station and the Esplanade Busport via City West Station, West Perth and St Georges Terrace. Visitors are also encouraged to check the website regularly for notices on service interruptions. Read more helpful tips on planning your visit or event in the park.

The red and green Kangaroo Paws are already looking spectacular and over 20,000 additional wildflowers planted for the Kings Park Festival are beginning to bloom. With over 70 species of birds, 200 species of fungi and 3,000 WA native plants (with many found nowhere else on earth), there is much to discover in Kings Park and Botanic Garden this winter.
